Teenager receives 18-month road ban
A teenager involved in a crash in Devonshire has been disqualified from driving all vehicles for 18 months.
Ryann Goins-Burgess, 18, admitted drink-driving when she appeared in Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.
The court heard that police saw Goins-Burgess near the scene of the crash at the junction of Barkers Hill and North Shore Road on May 30.
Officers saw that Goins-Burgess was unsteady on her feet, smelt alcohol on her breath and took her to Hamilton Police Station.
Breath tests showed between 204 and 217 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of her blood. The legal limit for driving in Bermuda is 80mg/100ml.
In addition to the ban, Goins-Burgess, from Hamilton Parish was fined $1,500 for the offence.
