Literary journey makes comeback at Botanical Gardens
The Botanical Gardens is to host an updated StoryWalk next week, offering children and families a unique literary experience.
The event, organised by the Department of Parks and the Bermuda Youth Library, will invite participants on a scenic walk through the gardens on August 14 telling the story of The Bermuda Cedar Tree by Kevin Stevenson.
A government spokesman said: “The StoryWalk begins at 10am under the banyan trees and concludes with interactive activities on the Celebration Lawn.
“This free, family-friendly event offers an enjoyable and accessible way to foster a love of reading while promoting physical activity.
“Visitors will follow the story along a scenic route through the gardens, combining storytelling with the park’s natural beauty.”
The spokesman added that the event is intended to build on the success of the May 2024 StoryWalk, which featured Abigail’s Dream Adventures by Karen E. Franks.
“Originally created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, Vermont, the StoryWalk concept combines the joy of reading with the beauty of the outdoors, creating an educational activity for families,” the spokesman said.
“The Department of Parks and the Bermuda Youth Library are thrilled to continue offering this innovative experience that celebrates reading, nature and community.
“The StoryWalk at the Botanical Gardens is made possible by the generous sponsorship of Deloitte.”
