St David’s will attempt to close the gap on leaders Somerset and St George’s when they host winless Cleveland County in a Premier Division 50 Overs make-up contest at Lord’s today.

The third-placed islanders trail the two teams above them by ten points, but have two games in hand.

St David’s will see plenty of white-ball cricket this weekend as they are back in action against Flatts at Lord’s tomorrow.

St George’s, likewise, will attempt to keep alive their title hopes when they host fourth-placed Bailey’s Bay at Wellington Oval tomorrow, while leaders Somerset have a bye this round.

Bay, who are level on 20 points with St David’s and fifth-placed Warwick Workmen’s Club, will also be keen to come away with maximum points in their final league outing of the season to enhance their chances of avoiding relegation. The three teams below them all have games in hand.

Warwick host bottom side Cleveland at Southampton Oval in tomorrow’s remaining top-flight contest.

Tomorrow will also see the final round of the First Division 50 Overs competition.

Southampton Rangers, who have all but clinched promotion, hold a ten-point advantage at the summit over Willow Cuts and are hoping to end their campaign unbeaten in all competitions away to Devonshire Rec.

The Devonshire side, who are third, are facing a must-win scenario as they attempt to keep their promotion hopes alive along with Cuts and fourth-placed PHC, who will do battle at PHC Field in the remaining second-tier match.

Only ten points separates Cuts from Devonshire Rec and PHC, who are level on 20 points heading into the final round of the competition.

Also on tap today are the Western Counties All-Star Game featuring all three counties at White Hill Field and the Junior Eastern Counties clash between champions St David’s and Cleveland at Sea Breeze Oval.
