Drivers on notice as public works affect traffic

Pitts Bay Road in Pembroke will have one lane closed today for road works, the Ministry of Public Works and Environment advised.

Working hours run from 7.30am to 4pm. Traffic will be managed by Invisible Trenching Ltd representatives using barricades, signs, cones and traffic lights.

Drivers should detour via Woodbourne Avenue and Rosemont Avenue.

A spokesman added that North Shore Road in Hamilton Parish will be subject to a sequence of lane closures through August 29, extending to Flatts Village.

The milling and paving works will run from 5.30am to 5pm, with ministry representatives directing traffic.

Drivers were advised to detour on Harrington Sound Road or Middle Road in Smith’s.

Motorists using the route should expect delays and proceed with care.
