The consultation deadline for feedback on how to preserve and improve Southlands Park has been extended to August 19, the Ministry of Public Works and Environment announced.

Members of the public were invited to have their say on the Southlands Park Management Plan last month.

Residents were this week encouraged to use the additional time to review the plan and share their views on the future of one of Bermuda’s most valued green spaces.

Feedback should be submitted via the Government’s online consultation portal at forum.gov.bm.

The draft plan proposes measures such as ecological conservation, improved public access, enhanced amenities and the restoration or adaptive reuse of existing buildings within the Warwick park.

An application submitted by the Department of Public Lands and Buildings in June proposed developing a café with indoor and outdoor seating and a parking lot at the property while another plan suggested installing a series of zip lines.
