Bermuda’s opponents in the preliminary round of the Concacaf Women’s Championship Qualifiers were confirmed at the draw in Miami this week.

The Lady Gombey Warriors have been pitted in group C alongside Costa Rica, Guatemala, Grenada and Cayman Islands.

The qualifiers will involve 29 countries split into six groups with matches to be played during the Fifa Women’s International Windows in November, February and April.

At the conclusion of the Concacaf Women’s Qualifiers, the six group winners will join the United States and Canada, the two highest-ranked teams, in the eight-team Concacaf Women’s Championship.

That tournament will be held in November 2026 and will also serve as a regional qualifier for the 2027 Fifa Women’s World Cup in Brazil and 2028 LA Summer Olympics.

Bermuda’s women’s football team are fresh from defending their title at last month’s Island Games in Orkney.

Naquita Robinson’s team defeated Isle of Man 4-2 on penalties in the gold medal match to retain the title they won in Guernsey two years ago, the third occasion they have stood on top of the podium.
