J’Nai Butterfield-Steede and Jutorre Burgess are poised to take part in Bermuda’s crucial final round of 2026 World Cup qualifiers next month.

Bermuda coach Michael Findlay has yet to officially unveil his squad but the player’s clubs, Wythenshawe Town and Harborough Town, confirmed the players have received call-ups to the national squad for the fixtures against Jamaica and Curaçao next month.

Butterfield-Steede has made history in becoming the first Wythenshawe player to be called up for international duty.

“Wythenshawe Town have had a player called up for international duty for the first time in the club’s history,” read a club statement.

“J’Nai Butterfield-Steede will join up with the Bermuda national team for their final round World Cup 2026 qualifiers against Jamaica and Curaçao next month.”

Harborough winger Burgess has received his first call-up to the senior national team.

“Huge congratulations to Jutorre Burgess on his first senior call-up for Bermuda ahead of September’s World Cup qualifiers,” read a club statement.

“A proud moment for Jutorre, his family and everyone who has played a part in his journey.”

Luton Town striker and former Bermuda captain Nahki Wells is also expected be named in Findlay’s squad having made himself available for the vital fixtures.

The 35-year-old striker returned to action in Luton’s 1-0 home defeat against compatriot Nathan Trott’s Cardiff City in an evenly fought League One affair on Saturday after missing the Hatters’ previous two fixtures with a strained muscle.

Bermuda will kick off their campaign when they host regional powerhouses Jamaica at Flora Duffy Stadium on September 5 before facing Curaçao four days later at the Ergilio Hato Stadium in Willemstad.

The Gombey Warriors will then face Trinidad & Tobago and Jamaica in October, and Curaçao and Trinidad in November.
