Chariot Re names Reena Pally as chief investment officer
Chariot Re has appointed Reena Pally as its chief investment officer, effective September 1.
The Bermuda-based life and annuity reinsurer, which launched this year with co-sponsorship from MetLife and General Atlantic, said the hire reflects its ongoing focus on building depth in its executive ranks.
Ms Pally brings more than two decades of experience in financial services. She joins from MetLife Investment Management, where she was managing director and portfolio manager in the real estate group. In that role, she oversaw MetLife Insurance Investors’ commercial mortgage portfolio within the debt strategies group. She has also held a number of senior investment roles across MIM.
Ms Pally holds a master of business administration degree in finance from the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business and a bachelor of science degree in finance and international business from New York University’s Stern School of Business. She is also an active member of the Mortgage Bankers Association.
Cynthia Smith, chairman and chief executive of Chariot Re, said: “Reena brings a deep understanding of the markets and a proven track record in developing and executing investment strategies. She will play an important role in enabling us to deliver value to our clients and stakeholders.”
