“Fair, transparent and responsive” updates to the island’s work permit policy are in progress in the aftermath of comeback this summer from employers, employees, agents and the public.

Jason Hayward, the Minister of Economy and Labour, said a summary of feedback along with the finalised 2025 work permit policy would be brought to the House of Assembly on September 26.

The policy, which was expected to include streamlining the processing time for permit applications, is expected to come into effect on November 1.

Consultation for the draft policy ran from June 5 through July 4.

Mr Hayward said he was reviewing feedback with the goal of incorporating “relevant adjustments” into the policy.
