Three former Appleby interns have joined the law firm’s legal trainee programme in Bermuda.

Guy Cabral, Tiffany Cooper and Juron Tucker are participating in the two-year programme, which provides pupils with training across the firm’s corporate, dispute resolution and insurance departments.

Appleby said it involves three four-month seats in the first year and one 12-month seat in the second year.

Assigned to senior attorney mentors, trainees are called to the Bermuda Bar after completing the first year.

Brad Adderley, Appleby Bermuda’s managing partner, commented: “The programme has long provided a strong foundation for aspiring lawyers in Bermuda, supported by the dedication of our mentors. With their guidance, we are confident Guy, Tiffany and Juron will be well prepared for successful legal careers.”

Mr Cabral holds a Master of Laws in International Commercial Law from University College London, as well as a Master of Sciences in Taxation in which he placed top of his cohort and a Bachelor of Arts in Jurisprudence, both from the University of Oxford. He completed the Bar Course at The Inns of Court College of Advocacy, and was admitted to the Bar of England and Wales in 2025. He joins the firm from the Law Commission of England and Wales, where he worked as a research assistant.

He said: “What drew me to Appleby is its reputation for being at the forefront of the international legal and business community. Right now, the global business world seems to be a river in flux, driven by revolutions in technology and practice. I am excited to learn from the group’s ability not just to react to change but to help shape that change for its clients. I know that undertaking my pupillage at Appleby, thanks to the dedicated mentors and skilled colleagues here, will help me reach the greatest extent of my potential.”

She also holds an Associate of Arts from the Bermuda College. Before pursuing her legal career, she worked as a certified rehab clinical aide with the Bermuda Hospitals Board.

She said: “Throughout my academic endeavours, Appleby has been immensely supportive while also providing internships that have helped to form an essential part of my legal background. My decision to undertake my legal training with Appleby is based on the phenomenal experiences I have had with the firm thus far. I appreciate this opportunity to further develop the legal skills I have acquired, as I am certain they will become as exceptional as those I am having the privilege of being mentored by and working with.”

He said: “The opportunity to intern at a prestigious firm like Appleby was remarkable and provided great hands-on experience in my transition to law. The firm has underscored the value of transferable skills of individuals joining from diverse fields of expertise. I am grateful to be chosen to stay on as a trainee and look forward to continuing to learn from such an esteemed group of professionals.”
