Willis Re has announced the appointment of Neville Ching to its Bermuda office.

Mr Ching brings more than 25 years of reinsurance broking experience across London, Bermuda and global markets. He has held senior leadership roles at major firms and most recently founded ReFlex Solutions Ltd, an independent reinsurance brokerage launched in Bermuda last year with plans to expand into London and the United States.

At the time of its launch, Mr Ching said ReFlex aimed to combine technology with deep broking knowledge to deliver creative solutions for buyers struggling in a hard market. The firm was backed by private investors across the insurance, reinsurance, investment and technology sectors and sought to “bridge the knowledge gap” left by less experienced brokers during volatile renewals.

The LinkedIn post announcing the appointment did not make clear which role Mr Ching will take on at Willis Re, and the company did not respond to a request for comment from The Royal Gazette.

Commenting on his new role, Mr Ching said: “I am excited to be part of this new venture from the outset. I look forward to working with colleagues to deliver real impact and to help shape a differentiated approach in the market.”

Lucy Clarke, Willis Re board member, added: “It is a privilege to welcome Neville, whose expertise and reputation will be a tremendous asset to Willis Re.”
