The alumni of a now shuttered college will celebrate the 69th anniversary of its opening on Wednesday.

Former students of the Bermuda Technical Institute have been invited to celebrate with the Bermuda Technical Institute Association at the Ocean View Golf Course in Devonshire.

The school opened its doors on September 17, 1956, as a way to teach secondary school-aged children valuable technical skills and education.

The school was absorbed by Bermuda College in the 1970s and the building was vacated the following decade.

The event will take place at Ocean View between 5pm and 9pm.

Tickets are $35 and can be purchased at Ptix Bermuda. There will be a cash bar and raffles.

Attendees were strongly encouraged to wear house colours.
