Chedi Smith, Kennahz Fray, and Harlem Bean-Fox scored the goals for Coventry Sphinx Under-18 to triumph 3-1 over Kidderminster Harriers in the Midland Floodlit Youth League on Thursday.

The three youngsters, who are enrolled at the Future Pro Academy as they work their way up to becoming professionals, were part of a strong team display for the academy’s partner club at Sphinx Drive. It was the third win in four league games for Sphinx, who are second in the standings with nine points, one behind Aylestone Park.

Next up for the Bermuda youth players is an under-23 encounter with Solihull Academy. Fray will be looking to extend his scoring after netting a beauty on Future Pro’s 2-1 victory over Thomas Telford School in the Under-19 Men’s Premier Category 1.

Smith, Fray and Bean-Fox are the part of five Bermudians at the Coventry-based academy. The others are Shiloh Waite and Jahni Simmons, the only female.

On Wednesday, Simmons, who signed for Sphinx two weeks ago, had her first match of the season for Future Pro in the English Colleges Football Association Premier League postponed.

The match had to be rearranged after their opponents, Rugby Town Female Academy, were unable to fulfil the fixture.
