Storms postpone Age Concern annual meeting

Age Concern has postponed its annual meeting because of Hurricane Humberto and Tropical Storm Imelda.

A statement from the charity said the meeting, originally scheduled to take place at Evangelical Church in Paget tomorrow, has been rescheduled for October 21.

The statement added that attendees at the gathering can “learn more about the organisation’s work, reflect on the year’s accomplishments and engage with future plans”.

It said: “Attendees will also have the chance to participate in open discussions and hear updates on upcoming initiatives.

“In the meantime, Age Concern urges the public to take care — check on emergency supplies, review storm plans and stay connected with neighbours, friends and especially any older adults who may need extra support during this time.”

Light refreshments will be provided at the meeting, set to take place from noon until 2pm, and those interested in attending should register in advance by e-mailing info@ageconcern.bm, visiting ageconcern.bm or calling 238-7525
