Bermuda assistant coach Kenny Thompson has stepped down from his position.

The Bermuda Football Association announced that Thompson, who was named as one of Michael Findlay’s assistants alongside John Barry Nusum when the Canadian was appointed head coach in August 2023, has vacated his post as the team prepare for the next window of 2026 Fifa World Cup qualifiers against Trinidad & Tobago and Jamaica.

“Assistant coach Kenny Thompson has requested to leave the staff while he attends to some personal matters,” the BFA said in a statement.

Jake Littlejohn, a Fifa talent coach who has been working with the junior national team and enjoyed a 2½-year spell working on the Norwich City academy, will fill the void left by Thompson’s departure.

Bermuda, who are bottom of group B with no points after two matches, face Trinidad at Flora Duffy Stadium on October 10 before they go up against Jamaica in Kingston four days later.
