Chariot Re appoints Andrew Preston as CFO
Chariot Re has named Andrew Preston as its new chief financial officer.
The Bermudian-based life and annuity reinsurer said Mr Preston brought more than 20 years of international experience in the insurance and reinsurance sectors, having held senior executive and board-level posts in both Britain and Bermuda.
Mr Preston was most recently CFO of Aspida Life Re in Bermuda. His responsibilities included strategic financing, regulatory reporting, capital management, investment oversight and mergers and acquisitions.
He has also been an active participant in Bermuda’s insurance industry forums and is a strong supporter of Bermuda International Long-Term Insurers and Reinsurers.
Mr Preston holds designations as a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, and a chartered professional accountant in Bermuda.
Cynthia Smith, chairman and chief executive of Chariot Re, said: “We are excited to announce the appointment of Andrew as our CFO. With his deep knowledge of the industry and strong reputation within the Bermuda community, we are confident he will bring valuable perspective to the team.”
