Ralph Scott’s first coach proud of young player
Damiso Husband, one of basketball player Ralph Scott’s first coaches, has shared his joy about the young player’s commitment to University of Tennessee.
Husband, who coached the small forward at under-9 level and also worked with some of the teams Scott played for, is pleased with the progress made by the 17-year-old.
“We’ve had the privilege of watching Ralph grow from an inspired young boy with a dream, to a driven young man with the discipline and determination to achieve it,” Husband said.
“His journey has been marked by hard work and an unwavering commitment to excellence.
“Now, as he prepares to showcase his talents at the University of Tennessee under the leadership of the esteemed coach Rick Barnes, we couldn’t be more proud.”
Husband has a long history with Scott and his family and he will be watching Scott’s college career closely.
“I coached Ralph on an under-9 travelling team,” Husband said. “Since then, I’ve done more trainings with him and assisted with teams he has played on.
“My son Quinton has played with him at Warwick and the national teams, so we have a long family history.
“Ralph’s accomplishments are a testament to what’s possible when passion meets perseverance.
“We wish him continued success on and off the court, and we look forward to cheering him on as he writes the next chapter of his incredible story.”
