Parking near Barr’s Bay Park in Pembroke will be closed to the public for a breast cancer fundraiser on Wednesday.

The transport ministry said that the 29th Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Walk would also affect several roads between 4.30pm and 7.30pm.

The walk will start at Barr’s Bay Park on Front Street and run through Woodbourne Avenue, Richmond Road, Rosemont Avenue and Serpentine Road.

The trek will then continue on to Woodlands Road at the roundabout before continuing to Euclid Avenue, St John’s Road, Cedar Avenue, Burnaby Street and Front Street, where they will head back to Barr’s Bay Park.

There will be no road closures but road marshals will be present to direct traffic and police will be authorised to close off portions of streets.

Motorists were asked to use caution while driving near the route and to follow instructions offered by road marshals.

Any questions regarding the event should be directed to Sideya Dill on 295-5566.
