Members of the public can join the Duchess of Gloucester at two free events this weekend.

Her Royal Highness Birgitte, also the Colonel-in-Chief of the Royal Bermuda Regiment, arrives tomorrow for her fourth official visit to Bermuda to celebrate the battalion’s 60th anniversary.

The Duchess will tour Masterworks Museum of Bermuda Art, of which she is the patron, and visit Dame Marjorie Bean Hope Academy and the Bermuda Institute of Ocean Sciences on Friday.

She will then attend the RBR Trooping the Colour ceremony, where soldiers will be given service medals, at the Keep in Dockyard on Saturday.

This ceremony, set to start at 11am, is open to the public and a free ferry for attendees is set to leave Hamilton at 9.45am.

It will depart Dockyard at the end of the event, which is scheduled to last until about 12.30pm and will be broadcast live on CCTV.

All are welcome at a church service at the Cathedral of the Most Holy Trinity in Hamilton on Sunday, to be followed by tours of the charity Home’s facilities along with Warwick Camp. The latter event will also be broadcast live on CCTV.

The Duchess will visit the Bermuda Aquarium, Museum and Zoo and Trunk Island on Monday.

A tree-planting ceremony at Government House, also on Monday, will feature a performance by the H&H Gombey Troupe.

The ceremony, to be broadcast live on CCTV, will mark the end of her visit.
