St George’s punched their ticket to the Dudley Eve Trophy final against Devonshire Cougars after they defeated Dandy Town on penalties at Bernard Park last night.

With the two sides failing to score in 90 minutes, the fixture had to be decided from 12 yards.

Jahron Dickinson, brothers Kashe and Blaiz Hall, and Liam Evans were on target for Drewonde Bascome’s side.

Town captain Tomiko Goater missed, Jahkari Furbert hit a post and Eusebio Blankendal was their only successful penalty-taker.

St George’s dominated from the start. Isai Gibbons shot at goal in the sixteenth minute after being allowed acres of space but Jahquil Hill smothered the effort.

On the half-hour mark, Dickinson almost caught Hill off guard with a snap shot from a ball that rebounded off Town defender Edry Moore.

Blaiz Hall had a great chance to score in the 34th minute in a one-on-one situation with Hill but the former St George’s goalkeeper managed to avert the danger.

Town went close three minutes before the break when David Jones Jr charged at goal down the right side but St George’s keeper Troy Hall Jr blocked the ball out for a corner.

Chances were few and far between for both sides in the second half.

Town coach Jarreau Hayward made five substitutions in an effort to bring some spark into his side, but the match ended goalless.
