Road and lane closures in Pembroke and Devonshire

Sections of roads in Pembroke and Devonshire will either be limited or restricted starting tomorrow, the Ministry of Public Works and Environment announced.

A spokesman said no traffic will be permitted along Palmetto Road from The Glebe Road Bridge throughout the weekend to accommodate scaffolding.

Both lanes should reopen on Sunday night.

Motorists can detour via North Shore Road, Marsh Folly Road and Bishop Spencer Road.

Traffic will also be reduced to one lane along Middle Road and Orange Valley Road this weekend for trenching.

Work will take place from 7.30am to 6pm and representatives from Invisible Trenching managing traffic.

Drivers should expect delays or detour via Flora Duffy Hill, Montpelier Road or Tee Street.

Lanes along Parsons Road will also be temporarily closed next week to install three elevated crosswalks.

Crosswalks will be placed at the Pembroke Park bus stop, Social Cycles Bermuda and west of The Glebe Road.

Works will commence on Monday and are expected to finish by October 31. Work will be done from 7.30am and 3pm.

Motorists should use caution and expect delays along Parson’s Road, but can detour via Marsh Folly Road or Happy Valley Road.

The ministry apologised for any inconvenience.

Questions about Parsons Road works can be directed to principal highways engineer Tina Beer-Searle on 504-3044 and Bernard Kunst, of Sunrise Construction, can be reached at 541-3387 with questions about the Palmetto Road closure.

Questions about work along Orange Valley should be directed to Invisible Trenching representative Kip Froud on 236-8712.
