Police opened an investigation into a firearms incident that took place in the early hours of this morning.

A police spokesman said that at about 12.50am officers received reports of a gunshot heard in the area of Hillview Lane, Warwick.

Police conducted a search of the area but did not recover any items until they searched again in the daylight hours and found a spent shell casing.

Checks with the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital revealed that no one had attended seeking treatment for a firearm-related injury.

A spokesman for the Bermuda Police Service said: “Police are particularly interested in speaking with anyone who may have seen two individuals on a motorcycle, leaving the area via Hillview Lane shortly after the gunshot was heard.”

Anyone with information should call the main police number, 295-0011, the non-emergency number, 211 or the independent and confidential Crime Stoppers at 800-8477.

Information can also be reported to the BPS Community Reporting Portal or to a trusted police officer.
