A 5K run scheduled for the Mid Atlantic Athletic Club will affect traffic in Hamilton and surrounding areas on Sunday.

The MAAC Beyond Fitness 5K Road Race will take place between 8.30am and 10am, the Ministry of Public Works and Environment said.

No road closures are planned, but traffic controls will be in place, with drivers advised to avoid the race during the scheduled time and heed police officers and race marshals along the route.

It starts at the corner of Dundonald Street and Cedar Avenue. Participants will turn right onto Marsh Folly Road and along Palmetto Road, exiting at the roundabout onto Dock Hill.

They will then turn left onto North Shore Road, left up Black Watch Pass to Marsh Folly Road, then left again onto Cedar Avenue, with a right turn onto Dundonald Street to the finish line at the Masters Home Centre car park.

The ministry apologised for any inconvenience. Questions can be directed to race representative Sharon Craig on 704-1626.
