Lane and sidewalk closure in Smith’s this month

Traffic will be affected on Middle Road in Smith’s this month to facilitate trenching works, the Ministry of Public Works and Environment said.

The works — which will result in lane and sidewalk closures — will be done between Kilderry Lane and Store Hill from November 24 to December 19 between 7.30am and 6pm.

Temporary traffic lights and signs will manage traffic in both directions.

Motorists were advised to expect delays and use alternative routes via Hermitage Road, Barkers Hill and Vesey Street.

Eastbound drivers in particular were advised to use Hermitage Road to avoid congestion during working hours.

Traffic will be managed by Invisible Trenching Ltd, with drivers urged to exercise caution.

The ministry apologised for any inconvenience.

Questions about the works can be directed to Kip Froud, of Invisible Trenching Ltd, on 236-8712.
