School choirs rang in the festive season at LF Wade International Airport today to open the third edition of the annual Great Christmas Carol Off.

Participants are competing for their share of $15,000 towards their music programmes and to support Bermuda’s next generation of performers, a Skyport spokeswoman said.

Choirs including Dalton E Tucker Primary, Saltus Upper Primary, Victor Scott Primary and Elliot Primary School took part.

The judging panel this year includes Ru-Zelda Nisbett-Severin and Narek Darbinyan, two distinguished new voices who bring international artistry and educational expertise to the competition.

The celebration of song will be hosted again on Thursday and Friday from 9.30am to 2pm.

It will conclude with a winners’ concert on December 13 at 7pm.

On Thursday and Friday, attendees can expect special performances by Sakaela and Tino Martinez who will add more festive flair.

The 2025 Carol Off includes a Holiday Vendors Market — a beloved feature of the competition where local vendors and authors offer seasonal goods, crafts and books.
