Promotions ceremony honours two Corrections officers
Two senior officers at the Department of Corrections were commended for their leadership, professionalism and longstanding service at their promotion ceremony last week.
Assistant Commissioner Gladwin Simons and Assistant Commissioner Darynda Caisey-Brown, who have served in their new roles since August, both demonstrated “exceptional leadership throughout their careers”, national security minister Michael Weeks said.
He added: “Their promotions reflect years of dedicated service and an unwavering commitment to the safety, rehabilitation and wellbeing of those in our correctional system.
“Both officers bring experience, integrity and professionalism to their roles, and their work is vital to the department’s mission.
“I am grateful for their continued service, and for the positive influence they have on their teams and on the individuals in our care.”
The ceremony, timed according to the department’s scheduling considerations, was hosted by James Howard, the Acting Commissioner of Corrections.
Mr Weeks said the promotions strengthened the department’s senior leadership at a time when “effective management and forward-thinking oversight are essential”.
