Conference puts spotlight on individual healing

Residents have been invited to attend a two-day, community-focused event dedicated to understanding grief, supporting individual healing and strengthening collective resilience across the island.

The Grief Recovery Conference will be held at the Willowbank Resort and Conference Centre and will run from 4.30pm to 9pm tomorrow, and on Saturday it will run from 8.30am to 5pm.

The event is open to the general public, including individuals and families who have experienced grief and who are seeking tools, community connection and guidance to help understand and process their unique journey.

It will bring together local counsellors, therapists and keynote speakers with personal and professional expertise in the grief process.

Author Angria Basset will deliver the feature address at the event, which the organisers said addresses the “universal reality — grief touches every life”.

Ms Basset said: “Grief is something every one of us faces, yet few of us feel equipped to navigate it.

“The Bermuda Grief Recovery Conference was created to bring our community together — to remember, to learn and to heal.

“By opening up conversations about loss, we make room for compassion, strength and hope.

“Healing is not a solitary journey; it is something we can walk through together.”
