Troika launches talent spotting and development programme
A local performing arts organisation has launched a mentorship programme designed to find and nurture new talent in Bermuda.
Troika Bermuda said the Ascend Talent Show Initiative will showcase the skills of young Bermudians aged 7 to 18.
Auditions for the show are set for January 18 at CedarBridge Academy.
Participants can enter various performance categories including dance, vocal, drama, spoken word and musical instrument.
Each participant is paired with an experienced artistic mentor and Troika alum who will provide tailored guidance and support throughout the preparation process.
The mentorship aspect of the programme is designed to strengthen each participant’s skills, confidence and stage readiness.
Mentors for the programme include: Antione Williams; Chinyere Nwasike; Kevonte Jennings Lathan; Mionne Destiny; Olivia Hamilton; Sacha Dill; Shanna Henry; and Sion Symonds.
Seldon Woolridge, cofounder of Troika Bermuda, said: “Ascend is about creating access, building confidence and developing well-rounded performers who are prepared for future opportunities.
“Through mentorship and structured development, we are helping young people build the skills, discipline and confidence they need to grow both on and off the stage.”

• Audition Requirements
Auditions are open to young people aged 7 to 18 entering as a solo performer or group in dance, drama, vocal, spoken word or musical instrument. Participants should come prepared to present a short piece in their chosen category. Audition pieces should be no longer than two minutes.
Dance style, vocal genre and musical selection are open, and performers are encouraged to choose material that best represents their talent and stage presence. All participants who sign up will be given the opportunity to select an audition time slot in advance.
Groups should audition with the same members who intend to participate in the programme and should designate a primary contact for programme communications.
Successful candidates will be enrolled into the Ascend programme and paired with a mentor who will support their artistic development and preparation in the lead up to the Ascend Talent Show Competition.

Shoa Wolfe, cofounder of Troika Bermuda, added: “Ascend reflects what Troika has always stood for; developing talent and creating meaningful opportunities for young people to be seen, supported and celebrated.
“We are excited to bring the community into this journey and to watch these young performers rise.”
The programme is structured into four age categories; 7 to 9 years, 10 to 12, 13 to 15 and 16 to 18, to ensure age-appropriate competition and experiences.
Ascend is one of Troika Bermuda’s first initiatives of the 2026 season.
Audiences and aspiring performers are encouraged to look out for upcoming announcements, including auditions for Troika’s 2026 Work in Progress #9 musical production.
