Casting call for annual Walk to Calvary

Brought to life: a scene from the annual Walk to Calvary last year at St George’s (File photograph by Blaire Simmons)

A call has been made for people to play various roles in a Good Friday event in the Olde Towne.

Organisers of the annual Walk to Calvary said rehearsals for the event will begin tomorrow, January 10, at 9.30am at Ebenezer Methodist Church at York Street in St George’s.

This year’s event will be held under the theme “Love Walked Among Us”.

Volunteer actors, children, students, young adults, and adults — from seasoned performers to first-time participants — were invited to take up roles in acting, storytelling, or serving the event through the arts.

No acting experience is required, the organisers said and people from all Christian denominations were welcomed to take part.

The organisers said participants will have an opportunity to join the re-enactment cast or support performance roles, engage in the meaningful, faith-based cultural experience and represent Bermuda at the event which is usually witnessed by thousands locally and globally.
