Residents have been invited to submit scripts for the twentieth edition of the Famous for 15 Minutes Playwriting Festival in June.

The Bermuda Musical and Drama Society Charitable Trust said the deadline for submission of scripts is March 27.

This year also marks the 25th anniversary of the trust.

The trust called it an ideal chance for anyone interested in local theatre to try something new. Mentors are available for all positions and little or no experience is required.

Auditions for selected plays will be held on May 4 and 5 at the Daylesford Theatre in Hamilton.

Six will be chosen to be performed at the Daylesford from June 4 to 6 and June 10 to 13.

Rules and guidelines can be found at www.bmds.bm or can be requested by e-mailing famous@bmds.bm. Anyone interested in working on production can also e-mail.

Plays will be forwarded anonymously to a panel of three experienced and award-winning playwrights for judging.

Audition information will be posted on the society’s website late in March.
