Police have asked the public for help to identify a person captured on video as they continue investigations into the 2016 murder of Jason Mello.

Mr Mello was fatally shot at about 7.30pm on August 19, 2016, outside of a residence in Pembroke.

In a new appeal for information, the Bermuda Police Service released a video clip that showed an individual wearing a motorcycle helmet who was considered a person of interest in the case.

The gunman is believed to have parked a motorcycle on Bandroom Lane, approached Mr Mello, opened fire and then fled on the bike through the area of St Monica’s Road.

Police said last year that the suspect was dressed in heavy, dark winter clothing that “would have stood out on a warm August evening” and was wearing a full-face visor helmet.

Anyone with information was asked to contact Detective Inspector Randy Barker of the serious crime unit on 717-2176 or 247-1739.
