Carey Olsen promotes Oliver MacKay to partner
Carey Olsen has promoted Oliver MacKay, a Bermuda dispute resolution and litigation lawyer, to partner.
Mr MacKay joined Carey Olsen in 2020 from international law firm DLA Piper and specialises in contentious re/insurance, trusts and regulatory matters, including sanctions advice.
His practice also spans restructuring and insolvency and arbitration. He acts for corporate clients, financial institutions, re/insurers, brokers, trustees and private clients in Bermuda and internationally, and has advised on and appeared in major disputes before the Supreme Court and the Court of Appeal.
Commenting on his appointment, Mr MacKay said: “To be made a partner within our exceptional Bermuda dispute resolution and litigation team is a very proud moment for me. I am glad to have played a part in helping to establish our market-leading practice and particularly mentoring more junior lawyers in our team.”
Keith Robinson, partner and head of Carey Olsen’s Bermuda dispute resolution and litigation practice, said Mr MacKay had become “a go-to adviser for clients and colleagues alike”.
He added: “Over the past five years, he has delivered proactive and commercially sound advice on a range of complex and challenging matters.”
