Guidebook for retirees now available online

A new guidebook aims to make it easier for people who wish to retire in Bermuda.

The Ministry of Social Development and Seniors and the Ageing Well Committee designed the resource, Envision your Retirement: 2026 Planning Guide to Retirement, now available online.

A spokeswoman said the guidebook was designed “in response to the growing need for proactive retirement planning as Bermuda’s senior population continues to experience increased longevity and maintain active lifestyles”.

She added: “The guidebook is designed to assist residents entering the workforce and nearing retirement by providing clear guidance on key planning areas, including housing and living arrangements, healthcare and health insurance options, budgeting and debt management, estate planning and financial readiness.”

It includes pointers from both the Government and private sector.

The guidebook is available online and hard copies can be collected at the ministry’s Veritas Place headquarters on Court Street.

The spokeswoman said the ministry hopes to “facilitate educational sessions in the future, to assist and support individuals seeking a better understanding of the guide and the retirement planning process”.
