A few weeks after missing out on playing in the World Legends Pro T20 in India due to his visa arriving late, former Bermuda captain Kamau Leverock is heading to the Asian country after signing for Southern Spartans in the Big Cricket League.

Leverock’s management agency Stem Sports announced on Tuesday that the swashbuckling all-rounder had secured a deal in the BCL for the second season, which will be played in Greater Noida from March 11 to 22.

“We’re excited to share that @KLeverock_22 has been signed by Southern Spartans for the Big Cricket League,” Stem Sports said.

At the end of last month, Leverock was recruited by Pune Panthers to the World Legends Pro T20. However, visa delays prevented him from travelling to India, something the 31-year-old told his social media followers cost him $10,000.

“10k loss just put a real pain in my chest,” Leverock posted on X (formerly Twitter).

“My visa coming the day after I was supposed to fly is a different kind of pain.”

In 2024, Leverock earned a contract to play in the Legends of Cricket League, where he played for Gujarat Giants after being sold for 11 lakh (about $13,000).

While he had West Indies great Chris Gayle as one of his team-mates, his side struggled to make an impact, finishing with one win and five defeats from seven matches.
