The RG/BSX Index ended the day at 3,343.80, down 74.49 points (2.18 per cent).
A total of 400 Butterfield shares traded on the Bermuda Stock Exchange to finish at $52.07 up $1.43 (2.7 per cent).
Allshores also saw activity with 19,407 shares trading, rising 80 cents (3.8 per cent) to close at $21.80.
Butterfield rose ten cents (0.19 per cent) to close at $52.84 on the New York Stock Exchange with a volume of 88,528.
