Bermuda resorts feature highly in Pickleball Magazine
Bermuda is in prime position to capitalise on the growing numbers of people playing pickleball in the region.
With less than a month until some of the best players in the world and the region’s top countries come to the island for the Caribbean Pickleball Championships, one of the sport’s leading publications has focused on the luxury resorts attracting the pickleball dollar.
Endorsed by USA Pickleball, Pickleball Magazine is published eight times a year and has an audience of more than 2.1 million print and digital readers.
The February edition includes a focus on tropical resorts, with Rosewood Bermuda and Hamilton Princess & Beach Club featured among the ten US and Caribbean venues recommended for pickleball players with money to spare
“As pickleball continues its global rise, select resorts are elevating the sport from a casual amenity to a defining pillar of the guest experience,” the article reads.
“In this issue, we’ve noted just some of the many inspired settings that seamlessly integrate high-quality play with exceptional hospitality — earning their place as perennial favourites for players seeking the ultimate pickleball paradise.
“Many of these destinations combine professionally maintained courts, structured programming (clinics, lessons, open play or tournaments), quality instruction, and an overall guest experience worth travelling for.”
Rosewood Bermuda, which has four dedicated pickleball courts, is recommended for its partnership with Cliff Drysdale Tennis and the chance to receive some high-level coaching while enjoying “refined island elegance”.
“Perched above Bermuda’s iconic pink-sand coastline, Rosewood Bermuda pairs refined island elegance with a robust racket sports offering that includes four dedicated pickleball courts,” the Rosewood section reads.
“The resort partners with Cliff Drysdale Tennis to deliver world-class instruction and programming, elevating the on-court experience for players of all levels.
“Guests enjoy access to professional clinics, private lessons, and social play — balanced by a private beach club, expansive spa and sweeping Atlantic views. It’s an ideal destination for players seeking polished play in a serene setting.”
The Hamilton Princess & Beach Club, which also has four courts, has been selected for allowing free time on courts and for blending “historic glamour” with modern sporting needs.
“Known as Bermuda’s iconic “Pink Palace”, Hamilton Princess & Beach Club blends historic glamour with a vibrant, contemporary resort energy,” reads the article.
“Located at the Princess Beach Club, guests enjoy four dedicated pickleball courts set on the resort’s signature pink and blue surfaces, playable year-round thanks to Bermuda’s subtropical climate — warm in the summer and mild in the remaining seasons.
“There’s complimentary court time and equipment, with reservations co-ordinated through the spa, alongside private pickleball and tennis lessons.
“Revamped in late 2023, the courts debuted with custom Hamilton Princess paddles and pink pickleballs, adding a playful, collectible touch to a pickleball experience that pairs seamlessly with marina views, art-filled interiors, and Hamilton’s dining and nightlife scene.”
