More than 300 runners took to the roads on Sunday morning for the Fidelity 5K.

It was Philip Woollins, who took advantage of the absence oid some of Bermuda’s biggest running names to prevail, completing the course in 17min 51sec after a close fight with runner-up Corey Brunton.

Woollins had just eight seconds to spare over Brunton at the finish with Mike Neill third in 18:11. There were some notable performances from young athletes with Adam Cenzer finishing sixth in 18:58 and Liam Horrobin crossing the line in 19:40 to finish tenth.

Talented youngster Colette Durkin came out on top in the women’s race and finished fifth overall in 18:42. That gave her an 18-second win over race regular Stepanka Sprincova, with Teresa Ruiz third on 20:00. Kristen Robinson and Chloe Lawrence rounded out the top five.
