Vehicle fire causes traffic diversions in Warwick

Inferno: a private car burst into flames midafternoon yesterday, on Middle Road, Warwick, just west of Spicelands Riding Centre (Photograph supplied)

A vehicle fire on Middle Road in Warwick caused police to steer traffic away from the area yesterday afternoon.

A Bermuda Police Service spokesman said no injuries were reported in connection with the incident but motorists should avoid the area if possible.

While traffic was temporarily diverted onto Burnt House Hill or Tamarind Vale, the spokesman confirmed at about 4.30pm that traffic flow in the area had been returned to normal.

The spokesman said: “Traffic diversions are no longer in effect.

“The Bermuda Police Service thanks the motoring public for their patience and understanding regarding this incident.”
