Teen injured in shooting released from hospital

A teenager injured in a shooting in Devonshire last night has been released from King Edward VII Memorial Hospital after receiving treatment.

A police spokesman said that the 18-year-old was injured after a firearm was discharged in the area of Mary Victoria Road and Alexandra Road at about 10.40pm.

The spokesman said: “The investigation regarding this confirmed firearm incident is ongoing and any witnesses are now encouraged to call Detective Sergeant Mark Raposo on 717-2487 or e-mail mraposo@bps.bm.

“Members of the public with relevant information can also call the Serious Crime Unit on 247-1739 or speak with a police officer they know.”

Those with information can also share tips anonymously through the independent and confidential Crime Stoppers Bermuda hotline, 800-8477, or submitted through their website, www.crimestoppers.bm.
