Man fined and banned for unlicensed, disqualified driving
A man was banned from the roads until November and fined more than $1,000 after being caught driving while disqualified.
Christian Matias, 26, pleaded guilty in Magistrates’ Court to driving without a licence and driving whilst disqualified.
The incident happened on December 12 last year.
The court heard that Matias, from Warwick, was disqualified on October 13 that same year from driving all vehicles for seven months.
Senior magistrate Maxanne Anderson fined him $1,050 and ordered him to pay the fine by April 10.
She also banned him from the road for a further eight months, making him eligible to return to the roads by November.
While in court, Matias requested a community service order in place of paying $3,000 in traffic fines from October 2024.
Ms Anderson ordered a social inquiry report to see if he qualified for community service and adjourned the case until April 22.
