BUEI hosts tourism and hospitality networking event
A tourism and hospitality networking event is taking place tomorrow highlighting new programmes being launched for the upcoming summer season.
The Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute is hosting the annual Tourism and Hospitality Networking Event at its facility from 4pm to 7pm.
Entry is free for industry professionals and will highlight BUEI’s partnerships with Pedego Electric Bikes (Bermuda) and The Botanist Café, among others.
BUEI said that key components of advancing Bermuda as a premier tourism destination include promoting sustainability and environmental stewardship.
Professionals working in the tourism, hospitality and transportation sectors are invited to engage in dialogue and share brainstorming business ideas. There will be refreshments, door prizes, Bermuda Tourism Authority Connect information sessions and mini tours of BUEI’s Ocean Discovery Centre.
Traci Burgess, chief executive of BUEI, said: “BUEI is a leader in tourism, hospitality, community engagement and education, and we welcome everyone in to connect, explore, discover and inspire.
“Since launching this event in 2024, we have expanded to include a wider range of industry stakeholders, all of whom have direct interactions with overseas visitors.
“The aim of the networking event is to promote synergy among all who provide visitor experiences that advance and support Bermuda’s tourism products, especially those with a particular focus on the eco-friendly blue and green pillars of the National Tourism Plan.”
Davida O'Brien, the BTA’s director of social inclusion and stakeholder engagement, said: “Opportunities like this help strengthen connections across our industry and reflect our shared commitment to sustainable tourism. By working together, we can support the people and businesses that help create the experiences visitors enjoy when they come to Bermuda.”
A spokesman for The Botanist Café added: “At The Botanist Café, we believe that every choice, from the ingredients we source to the suppliers we support, should reflect care for our island home and its precious ecosystems. BUEI’s dedication to ocean conservation and environmental learning provides the perfect backdrop for this philosophy.”
Daley Furbert, the co-owner of Pedego Electric Bikes Bermuda, said the company was partnering with BUEI for a new City of Hamilton tour.
She added: “Our motto at Pedego Bikes is ‘hello fun’ and we are thankful for the opportunity to elevate the current offerings for land excursions in Bermuda with more options to offer visitors travelling with children and residents.”
Space is limited for the networking event. To register, visit BUEI.org/events or call 294-0204.
