Platform a ‘major improvement’ on Bermuda Job Board
An online platform will be launched to help connect Bermudians with jobs, training and new opportunities, the Minister of Economy and Labour said today.
Jason Hayward announced the new hub, which he said is about “helping people move forward”.
He said that Bermuda Job Connect, which is scheduled to go live on April 6, is a “major improvement” on the Government’s existing employment website, the Bermuda Job Board.
“Bermuda Job Connect allows the Government to better support jobseekers and employers, and it gives us the tools to understand what is happening in our workforce,” Mr Hayward added.
“For example, the new platform includes advanced reporting and data insights.
“This will help to track trends, identify gaps and better connect people to the right opportunities.
“It also brings everything into one place.
“Jobseekers will not just be searching for jobs, they will also have access to career resources, training opportunities and skills development tools.
“The platform includes integrated micro-courses so that users can build their skills directly within the system without needing to go elsewhere.”
Mr Hayward said that video content available on the platform will make it easier for users to prepare for work while employers can better engage with candidates.
He said the platform has been customised for Bermuda and that the Government is available to provide support.
The Department of Workforce Development will host a series of information sessions to help jobseekers and employers learn how to use the platform.
Users have been able to create their profiles on the new platform since March 16.
Mr Hayward added: “I encourage everyone to go online at www.bermudajobconnect.bm and sign up if you have not already done so.
“You can create your profile now, but some features, such as job postings and job applications, will not be available until the go-live date of April 6.
“This early access period gives everyone time to get comfortable with the new system, download their information from the old system and be ready for launch day.
“This is a big step forward for Bermuda. We are not just creating a job site; we are building a platform that supports careers, skills and opportunities.”
