Michael Weeks, the Minister of National Security, has encouraged the public to register for free personal safety seminars.

The Community Personal Safety Seminar series launched this month, and is scheduled to continue through May with sessions across the island.

The seminars include information about how to recognise potential risks, respond appropriately in difficult situations and apply simple strategies to stay safer.

Mr Weeks, who attended a seminar held at Victor Scott Primary School last week, said the session offered “practical, sensible advice”.

He added: “These seminars are a worthwhile community initiative, and I encourage anyone who has not yet attended to take advantage of the opportunity.

“There are still seminars available, and members of the public can choose the date and location that works best for them by registering online.”

Those who are interested in signing up are urged to visit martialarts.bm/personalsafety to view the remaining seminar dates, times and locations.
