Rider seriously injured in Pembroke collision

A male motorcyclist was taken to hospital this evening with serious head injuries following a two-vehicle collision on North Shore Road, police said.

The Bermuda Police Service said the incident near the junction of Overview Hill and North Shore Road, Pembroke involved a motorcycle and a car.

The motorcyclist was travelling west on North Shore Road when the collision occurred.

Police said the injured rider was attended to at the scene by EMT personnel and was subsequently taken by ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment.

The car driver sustained minor injuries.

The roadway was closed to vehicular traffic with diversions in place between Berkeley Road and Blackwatch Pass on North Shore Road.

Motorists were advised to avoid the area and use alternative routes to get to their destinations.
