Bernard Opoku elected partner at HSCM
Hudson Structured Capital Management’s managing director and chief financial officer Bernard Opoku has been elected partner.
HSCM Bermuda said the move recognised Mr Opoku’s leadership, sustained impact and commitment to the firm’s growth and client outcomes.
Mr Opoku leads HSCM’s finance function and helps strengthen its financial and operating foundation, including management reporting, analytics and governance that support the investment platform across insurance and transportation.
He was hired in 2018 as vice-president and controller and has held progressively senior roles, including managing director and chief accounting officer, before taking on his current role in 2023.
Previously, he was a senior manager at KPMG in Bermuda and a key member of the firm’s insurance-linked securities practice during a pivotal period in the convergence of insurance and capital markets.
“Bernard’s election to partner reflects the leadership, rigour and judgment he brings every day,” HSCM managing partner Michael Millette said. “He has been instrumental in strengthening our finance organisation and elevating the analytical and governance frameworks that support HSCM’s strategy and long-term growth.”
Beyond his professional role, Mr Opoku is committed to community impact and talent development in Bermuda.
He has supported HSCM’s engagement with Future Leaders Bermuda, including initiatives that expand mentorship, exposure and internship opportunities for Bermudian students.
He was recognised by Intelligent Insurer as a 2025 “Leaders Under 40” honouree, reflecting his standing among the next generation of industry leaders.
