Nahki Wells the Wembley hero as Luton lift EFL Trophy

Nahki Wells celebrates scoring for Luton in EFL Trophy final

Nahki Wells scored twice to propel Luton Town to a 3-1 victory against Stockport County in the EFL Trophy Final at Wembley Stadium today.

The Bermuda striker struck in the 39th minute and again in second-half stoppage time as the Hatters came from behind to secure victory.

Luton fell behind to Adama Sidibeh’s eleventh minute strike before Emilo Lawrence equalised in the 22nd minute.

Wells then put the Hatters ahead to afford them a one-goal advantage at the half before grabbing another in stoppage time to put the match beyond the reach of their Sky Bet League One rivals.

The 35-year-old was doubtful in the lead up the final after going off early after experiencing discomfort in his groin in Luton’s 3-0 win against Wimbledon last Monday.
