A motorcyclist was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital after a crash in Hamilton Parish this morning.
Police said the man was riding west along North Shore Road, near Shelly Bay MarketPlace, when he lost control and “slid out”.
It was thought that the rider suffered a serious head injury during the incident, which occurred shortly after 8am.
Police said this afternoon that the injury was confirmed to be less serious than thought and the man was recovering in the hospital.
Traffic was diverted via Radnor Road and North Shore Road for about 90 minutes while officers processed the scene.
Police thanked members of the public for their patience and co-operation and urged anyone with information on the incident to call 211 or 295-0011.
