Former Opposition Leader Robert King has been stripped of his national security spokesman role in a reshuffle by his successor Ben Smith.

Mr Smith, who unseated Mr King in a One Bermuda Alliance rebellion in February, has made his predecessor Shadow Minister of Justice, covering the Department of Corrections, probation and parole, rehabilitation and drug treatment.

Jarion Richardson, who stepped down as OBA leader in September 2025, is now Shadow National Security Minister. He was previously Shadow Minister for the Cabinet Office and Digital Innovation.

Mr Richardson will also handle governance and artificial intelligence. His responsibilities include the Bermuda Police Service, the Royal Bermuda Regiment, the Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service, IT and governance reform.

Michael Fahy received the immigration portfolio he held when the OBA was in government from 2012 to 2017.

In that role, Mr Fahy launched the controversial Pathways to Status policy which led to protests and had to be abandoned after the House of Assembly was blocked by demonstrators in March 2016.

However, Mr Fahy lost his role as spokesman for Caricom, where he was a vociferous supporter of a referendum on full membership.

He is now Shadow Minister for Economy, Labour and Housing, meaning he will face off against Jason Hayward, the Economy and Labour Minister who is also the only candidate to succeed David Burt as PLP leader and consequently Premier in October. He will also face Zane DeSilva, the Deputy Premier and Housing Minister.

Mr Smith remains Shadow Minister for Education and Sport, while Scott Pearman as deputy OBA leader is Shadow Attorney-General — covering municipalities and the judicial department. Mr Pearman is also spokesman for health.

Craig Cannonier, the Party Whip, is Shadow Minister for Tourism, Transport and Culture. He previously spoke for the party on matters related to health.

Mr Cannonier’s responsibilities cover the Bermuda Tourism Authority as well as ports, the airport and national events.

Douglas De Couto, the shadow finance minister, will speak on government finances, public debt, and taxation and customs.

Robin Tucker, who was Shadow Minister of Youth, Social Development and Seniors, now holds youth and family services — covering child and family services, youth services and child protection.

Linda Smith, who was Shadow Minister of Public Works and Environment, is now Shadow Minister of Seniors, Environment and Sustainability, covering seniors policy and advocacy, environment and climate, parks, land titles and planning.

Dwayne Robinson, previously Shadow Minister of Tourism, Culture and Transport, has moved to Shadow Minister of Home and Community Affairs, including the registry general, Caricom, energy and the cost of living.

Vance Campbell, who was Shadow Minister of Economy and Labour, now covers public works and infrastructure — which includes public lands and buildings, along with works and engineering.

Victoria Cunningham, the Opposition Leader in the Senate and deputy chairwoman of the party, speaks for finance, education, justice, the environment, sustainability and the municipalities.

David Rogers, the Shadow Minister of Health, will cover public works, environment and sustainability, national security, governance and artificial intelligence in the Upper House.

Tarik Smith will speak in the Senate for sport, youth and family services, along with seniors, tourism, transport, culture, economy and labour, and home and community affairs.
