Man admits spitting on woman
A man who spat in a woman’s face will be sentenced in Magistrates’ Court next month.
William Wilson, 67, admitted assaulting Belinda Smith when he appeared in court yesterday.
The court heard that Wilson, of no known address, pointed an umbrella at Ms Smith and spat in her face when he was asked to leave Byrdie’s Café on Wednesday.
Ms Smith identified Wilson to police the next day, and he was arrested for the offence.
Magistrate Maria Sofianos ordered a social inquiry report be written for Wilson, adjourned the case to May 29 for sentencing and remanded him in custody until that time.
