AI skills course back by popular demand
The Department of Workforce Development is reintroducing its AI Education Series 2026, featuring artificial intelligence expert and educator Amrita Bhalla of AB Consulting.
The virtual training initiative — featuring weekly modules starting next week — is back “by popular demand”, a government statement said.
The course will provide participants with practical, immediately applicable skills to improve productivity, build digital confidence and enhance competitiveness in today’s evolving workplace, a government statement said.
The programme features two distinct training streams to support both personal and professional development.
Stream one is “Foundational AI for personal productivity”, which is designed for individuals seeking to use AI tools to improve daily tasks, increase efficiency and build confidence with emerging technology.
Stream two, “AI upskilling for professional productivity”, is designed for working professionals seeking to integrate AI into their job functions, enhance workplace efficiency and support improved business results.
The three weekly modules for each stream lead to an AI Training Certificate and individuals may enrol in both streams to build broader AI competency.
Jason Hayward, the Minister of Economy and Labour, said: “As the world of work continues to evolve, it is essential that Bermudians are equipped with the skills needed to remain competitive.
“This initiative ensures that our workforce is prepared to engage with emerging technologies in practical and accessible ways, supporting both individual growth and national productivity.”
Ms Bhalla added: “We are pleased to continue partnering with the department to deliver practical AI training that helps individuals build confidence and apply these tools effectively in their daily work.”
To fully engage in the programme’s hands-on learning approach, participants must create a free account with AI platform tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini before the first session.
The basic free versions of these tools are all that is needed to participate in the training.
